Wow. Thanks to everyone who has helped make our new cafe such a success, congratulations to our wonderful team, you guys have certainly earned it.
Hats off to Scott and Jackie and the Hip Group for their continued fine form in taking top spot with the St Heliers Bay Cafe and Bistro.
And also congrats to the other top 10 nominees, especially our mates at Kokako.

little bird wins Runner Up Best New Cafe & Runner Up Best Ethical Cafe in Metro's Top 50.
The best thing about receiving these awards is technically we are not even allowed to enter! The write up on the front page from Metro reads: "There's a cafe that doesn't serve coffee in our new list of the Top 50 Cafes in Auckland. We know, it breaks a rule. But little bird's unbakery in Kingsland doesnt serve anything cooked - roasted, toasted or or processed - and we decided everything else in its uncooked lineup is so scrummy it would be a crime to leave it out."
Damn straight Metro, damn straight. ;)
Not bad for only being open 6 weeks right?!
