Turmeric Everything Oats

Serves 3 | Time to Make 10 mins

These everything oats are the ultimate breakfast food. Made from organic oats, hemp seeds, chia and activated nuts and seeds.

Each 80g portion provides you with more plant protein than 2 eggs!

Breakfast prep is a great way to ensure you don’t miss out on a healthy, fulfilling to-go breakfast and stops you buying things that don’t serve you or your pocket when you’re away from home and hunger strikes!

Three days is the maximum number of days to prep ahead as the oats will tend to get soft the longer you leave them. You also need to think about the shelf life of the milk you’re using.

Ingredients

240g Everything Oats

1 cup liquid (your choice of water or plant-based milk such as oat milk, almond milk or coconut milk)

6 Tbsp coconut yoghurt

seasonal fruit, chopped ( e.g. pear, apple, persimmon, feijoa, kiwi etc)

maple syrup (optional)

Method

Prepare the base: In a mixing bowl or container, combine oats and your choice of liquid at a ratio of about 1:1 (for example, 1/2 cup oats to 1/2 cup liquid). Adjust the liquid amount based on your desired consistency; some prefer thicker oats, while others prefer them more liquidy. Leave to sit for 5 mins until they start to absorb some of the liquid.

Divide into portions: Divide the oat mixture evenly into three individual airtight containers or jars. Top each portion with 2 tablespoons of coconut yoghurt.

Refrigerate overnight: Seal the containers and place them in the refrigerator to soak overnight. This allows the oats to absorb the liquid and soak up the flavours, resulting in a creamy and delicious breakfast by morning.

Top your oats with delicious seasonal fruits (you can also do this the night before for the next day but not for all three days as most fruits will brown). Add a drizzle of maple syrup, if desired.
